Overview
The OddityRC Vortex F80 is an 80A 3-8S single ESC for brushless (BLDC) motors, with AM32 or HF32 firmware options. In general, AM32 firmware is better for crawlers, while HF32 is better for airplanes and multirotors—please select according to your needs.
Key Features
- OddityRC hardware design with a 6-layer PCB and 3oz copper thickness (inside and outside)
- Metal-encapsulated MOS design for improved thermal performance and high current handling
- AT32F421 MCU (main frequency up to 120MHz), ARM Cortex-M4 kernel
- Telemetry support
- 5V 3A BEC
- Protocols: DShot300, DShot600, PWM (HF32 does not support PWM), etc.

Firmware Options & Notes
- AM32 is designed specifically for 32-bit ARM processors to control BLDC motors, with smooth quick start and linear throttle.
- HF32 is designed for 32-bit BLDC motor ESCs aiming for brushless motors in high performance multirotors.
- HF32 can be flashed to an ESC with AM32 firmware, but AM32 cannot be flashed to an HF32 ESC.
AM32 Features
- Variable PWM frequency
- Sine wave start mode
HF32 Features
- Digital signal protocol: DShot150, DShot300 and DShot600
- Bidirectional DShot: RPM telemetry
- High performance: Low comminucation interference
- Smoother PWM ramping
- User configuration startup tunes
- Numerous optimizations and bug fixes
Wiring / Pin Notes
- S signal pin: ESC working control signal; PWM/DSHOT protocol; can be tuned online using flight control.
- Firmware flash pin is provided for firmware flashing.
- A wiring diagram is labeled “AM32 80A DIAGRAM” and shows connections to an FC and LIPO 4-8S (diagram label), with FC labels including S1, S2, S3, S4, 5V, GND, BAT.
Applications
- 13inch heavy payload FPV drone
- Fixed wing airplane
- Ship model
- Car model
Matters Needing Attention
- When operating with continuous high current, provide good heat dissipation for the ESC.
- If the ESC cannot run after setting parameters, set the ESC parameters to default and adjust parameters again.
