Overview

The Argon ONE V3 is an aluminum alloy case designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 5. It uses a black polished aluminum alloy top cover and an ABS injection-molded bottom cover, with a precision cutout layout for Raspberry Pi 5 ports while maintaining access to GPIO and peripheral interfaces. An internal expansion board integrates a PWM cooling fan, RP2040 chip, infrared receiver, and a 3.5mm audio jack (DAC audio expansion board) to support cooling and system control features.

Key Features

  • Two versions optional: Standard version / M.2 version (the two cases have different bottom covers; the top cover is the same).
  • PWM cooling: Built-in PWM speed-adjustable cooling fan with multiple ventilation holes and heat-conducting columns to accelerate heat dissipation.
  • PWM fan details: 30*30*8mm fan with a 4-PIN JST interface (described as helping prevent reverse connection).
  • Magnetic sliding top cover: Magnetic adsorption design on the upper cover; can be moved to hide GPIO holes when not in use.
  • GPIO labeling: GPIO pin color silk screen and clear silk screen printing; reserved GPIO expansion interface.
  • Integrated RP2040 + IR receiver: RP2040 control functions such as fan speed and power management status; built-in infrared receiver supports control via an infrared remote controller.
  • Power button + jumper cap modes: Function selection via jumper caps:
    • 1-2 Default Mode (default mode: need to press button to turn on the Raspberry Pi)
    • 2-3 Always ON (normal open mode: automatically turn on the Raspberry Pi after it is powered on)
  • 3.5mm audio: Comes with a 3.5mm audio hole; internal DAC audio expansion board designed with a 3.5mm audio jack.
  • M.2 version storage expansion: The M.2 version supports installation of an M.2 SSD. Provided information mentions support for M.2 Key B and M.2 Key B+M SATA interface SSD, and also references M.2 sizes 2230/2240/2280 and connection through the Raspberry Pi 5 PCIe slot.
  • Anti-slip pads: Equipped with 4 anti-slip pads (installation required).
