Overview
Orbbec Astra S is a short-range structured light 3D camera designed for reliable indoor depth sensing with single-cable USB 2.0 power and connectivity. It delivers high-quality depth at 640X480@30fps within a 0.4–2 m range and features a depth Field of View of 58.4°H x 45.5°V. The camera integrates an Orbbec-designed ASIC for high-quality depth processing and works with the Orbbec OpenNI SDK for accurate, dependable data. As part of the Astra series (Astra long-range, Astra S short-range, and Astra Pro Plus high-resolution RGB), the lineup offers developers flexibility: series-level depth output spans 0.4–8 m depending on camera model, and Astra Pro Plus supports up to 30 fps at 1280X720 RGB.
