Overview

The CHIHAI MOTOR CHYB-GW3162 oscillating DC gear motor combines a worm gearbox, link rod and multi-hole swing arm on a metal mounting bracket. It produces repeated left-right angular motion for compact automation, rocking fixtures and DIY mechanisms. Choose the package, voltage/winding, gear ratio and assembled swing angle to suit the load.

Features

  • Metal gearbox and 4 mm aluminum bracket with dual ball-bearing supports.
  • Three mechanical swing-angle positions: 35°, 60° and 90°.
  • Six gear ratios from 36:1 to 590:1; speed and available torque depend on the winding and ratio.
  • Motor-only, adapter and adjustable speed-controller packages.

Configuration Guide

Package and Voltage and Winding are separate choices. Ratio and Angle combines two related mechanical settings: for example, 280:1 / 60 degrees means the 280:1 gearbox assembled at the 60° position. All listed choices correspond to actual configurations.

The 24 V / 2480# and 12 V / 1280# windings have the same listed reference speeds, while 12 V / 2480# runs more slowly. Use a supply matching the selected motor voltage. The speed controller reduces speed below the full-supply setting; it does not increase the motor's maximum speed. Available torque may decrease at reduced speed. Select on both torque and oscillation frequency, with allowance for friction and inertia.

Performance by Winding and Ratio

Columns below follow gear ratios 36:1, 54:1, 72:1, 108:1, 280:1 and 590:1. Speed is the listed gearbox output rotation reference; the linked mechanism converts this to oscillation. Torque entries use kgf·cm and are not a payload rating in kilograms. The angle-specific values are the relevant reference for swing-load selection.

The 50 kgf·cm figure is a maximum momentary limit for the high-ratio columns, not a continuous swing-torque rating. Do not operate stalled or above the selected angle-specific load. Increasing swing angle reduces the available swing torque.

Mechanical Installation

Check the drawing before machining a mount. The base has two Ø7 mounting holes with 23 mm spacing; the opposite opening is Ø6.5. The swing arm has two Ø5.5 holes. Allow clearance for the complete arm motion and linkage. Switch off and disconnect power before changing the 35°/60°/90° position, adjusting the link or tightening the set screw. Keep fingers, loose cables and clothing away from moving parts.

What's Included

Package Contents
Motor Assembly 1 oscillating motor assembly
Motor + Power Adapter 1 assembly + 1 power adapter
Motor + Speed Controller 1 assembly + 1 adjustable speed controller
Motor + Adapter + Controller 1 assembly + 1 adapter + 1 speed controller

An angle-adjustment wrench is shown as included. The full-package photograph illustrates connection leads; external fixtures and application loads are not included. Adapter plug and connector style should be checked for the installation; no universal plug compatibility is implied.

Speed Controller and Wiring

For controller packages, the four terminals in the illustrated top-to-bottom order are M− (motor negative output), M+ (motor positive output), V+ (DC supply positive input) and V− (DC supply negative input). Observe supply polarity. The controller's printed voltage range does not override the selected motor's 12 V or 24 V rating. Disconnect power before wiring.

Applications

Suitable for small repeated rocking, sweep and reciprocating-angle mechanisms in DIY automation and experimental fixtures. Design the support and load attachment around the selected angle and torque; no universal payload or continuous-duty guarantee is implied.

Operation and Care

Match supply voltage to the selected winding and size the supply for the application. Avoid overvoltage, undervoltage, overload and sustained stalls. Output speed drops as load increases; overload can damage internal components. Choose by the rated working torque rather than stall torque. Noise and vibration vary with speed and load. Evaluate temperature and reduced-speed torque in the actual mechanism.

FAQ

Can the swing angle be changed?

Yes. The mechanism has 35°, 60° and 90° positions. Select the desired assembled angle when ordering and disconnect power before making mechanical adjustments.

Does a larger angle provide the same torque?

No. Use the angle-specific table: a larger swing angle has lower listed swing torque at the same winding and gear ratio.

Is the power adapter included with every motor?

No. Select Motor + Power Adapter or Motor + Adapter + Controller to include one.
