Overview
The CHIHAI MOTOR miniature linear stepper actuator family converts controlled stepper rotation into guided linear travel. Select the actuator model and an actual package. SM 1545 is available alone or with a standard driver or PLC-control driver; SM 1530, SM 1519 andSM 2016 are actuator-only choices.
Features
- Compact lead-screw and guide assembly for miniature motion mechanisms.
- Two-phase four-wire stepper operation with reversible motion under a suitable driver.
- SM 1545 uses an M 3×0.5 right-hand stainless-steel lead screw and supported carriage.
- Model-specific travel and driver options keep the actual assembly clear.

SM 1545 Wiring and Drive
The following pin order applies to the SM 1545 connector drawing. Red and white form phase A; brown and black form phase B. Match actual wire colors and connector orientation before connection.
| Pin | Color | Phase |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brown | B |
| 2 | Black | B return |
| 3 | White | A return |
| 4 | Red | A |
Use a current-controlled bipolar stepper driver and a compatible power supply. Do not wire the four motor leads as a two-wire brushed DC motor. The 9 V/L 6219 and 600 mA-per-phase values are the SM 1545 electrical reference, not guaranteed input ratings for both optional control boards. Confirm board markings and input requirements before connection. The standard-driver package and PLC-control-driver package are different board choices; no PLC, power supply, external pulse controller or limit switch is promised as an extra item.
Mechanical Selection and Operation
SM 1545, SM 1530 andSM 1519 have 65, 30 and 19 mm travel respectively. SM 2016 is a distinct illustrated assembly; do not substitute the SM 1545 dimensions or assume its travel. Use the preserved 1545 drawing only for that model. Check mounting, screw clearance and carriage fit before machining or assembly.
Provide end-of-travel control in the application and avoid driving the carriage into its mechanical stops. Keep the guide aligned and protect it from debris. Load capability depends on orientation, speed, drive current and duty cycle; the rotary torque reference is not a guaranteed linear payload. Avoid unsupported side loads, stall and overheating.
Applications
Miniature sliding platforms, small positioning mechanisms, experimental 3D-printer axes and compact instrument motion projects. Select the actual travel, load and controller behavior for the mechanism.
What's Included
One selected linear actuator. Only the two SM 1545 driver packages additionally include their pictured driver board. Power supply, PLC, complete positioning platform, printer and external limit sensors are not included.
FAQ
Can I add either driver to every model?
No. Only SM 1545 is offered with the two driver packages in this listing.
Can I directly connect the motor to a DC supply?
No. A two-phase bipolar stepper driver must control the phase sequence and current.
Do the detailed electrical values apply to every option?
No. The detailed table and drawing apply to SM 1545; other assemblies have their own dimensions and drive requirements.
Are limit switches included?
No limit switches are listed. Provide suitable end-of-travel control for the application.
