The CHIHAI MOTOR STEPCon V1.1 motor controller drives a compatible two-phase, four-wire stepper motor with a two-digit speed-level display, local buttons and programmable reciprocating motion. Choose a PLC-interface version for external pulse, direction and enable control, or a local-control version; both are available as a bare board or with an enclosure.

Choose Your Configuration

Configuration Included
PLC interface with enclosure 1 enclosed driver, 1 power lead, 1 external PLC control cable
PLC interface bare board 1 driver board, 1 power lead, 1 external PLC control cable
Local control with enclosure 1 enclosed driver and 1 power lead
Local control bare board 1 driver board and 1 power lead

A motor and power supply are not included. All four selections include the reciprocating function. The PLC interface is the selection difference, not a separate PLC supplied with the product.

Specifications

Item Source specification
Motor type Two-phase, four-wire stepper motor
Supply input DC 5–12 V in the product specification table. The photographed PCB is marked 5–18 V; use the conservative 5–12 V specification and confirm motor compatibility before operation.
Speed selection Display levels 0–29; source describes 29 selectable running levels. Levels are reference settings, not calibrated PPS/Hz values.
Bare PCB 38 x 48 mm; mounting-hole pitch 33.5 x 43.5 mm; hole diameter 3 mm; source board weight 13 g
Enclosure 42 x 52 x 16 mm nominal; dimension drawing labels length 53 mm; source enclosed weight 27 g
Shipping weight 0.10 kg per configuration, an estimate including cables and packing

Different motors support different speed levels. Not every level will operate correctly with the same motor; begin at a low level and check stable motion. Output current and microstepping values are not specified in the source.

Wiring and PLC Control

Connect power to DC+ and DCβˆ’ with correct polarity. Match the motor's two coil pairs to A/A and B/B at the selected motor connector. The source illustrates 1.25 mm 4-pin, PH2.0 4-pin and XH2.54 4-pin motor connectors; verify your actual connector and coil order before applying power.

On PLC-interface configurations, the XH2.54 6-pin control port is labelled PULβˆ’, PUL+, DIRβˆ’, DIR+, ENβˆ’, EN+. PUL is the pulse input, DIR selects direction and EN enables control; the source states DC 5–36 V control-signal levels and a pulse input range of 0 Hz–2 kHz. This is the PLC signal specification, not permission to apply 36 V to the driver power input. PUL and DIR may be used without EN according to the source instructions.

Local Operation

Speed + increases the running level and Speed βˆ’ decreases it. From stop, Direction A or Direction B starts the motor in the corresponding direction. While running, a direction key changes direction; pressing the same direction key again pauses motion. The two direction keys also set the corresponding boundary in automatic reciprocating mode.

Automatic Reciprocating Motion

  1. After power-up, press Speed + and Speed βˆ’ together to enter reciprocating mode.
  2. The initial one-way movement uses a large default travel of approximately 65,500 steps. Establish the intended endpoint before it reaches an unsafe mechanical limit.
  3. During the first travel, press a direction key at the desired endpoint. The driver stores the step distance from the starting point to this position.
  4. The motor then reciprocates over that stored distance. Speed can be adjusted while it runs.
  5. To reset the travel, press a direction key during travel; the stored one-way distance becomes the distance from the current position to the starting point. Repeated presses may progressively shorten the stored travel.

Dwell Time and Memory

Hold Speed βˆ’ while switching on to enter dwell-time setup. The default is 1 second; the range is 1–999 seconds. Up to 100 seconds, each +/βˆ’ press changes the value by 1 second; above 100 seconds, each press changes it by 10 seconds. For values above 100 seconds the display shows hundreds and tens, with the tens-position decimal point illuminated.

Hold Speed + while switching on to enable memory; the display briefly shows β€œ--”. Repeat that power-on action to disable memory and restore default stored parameters. When enabled, direction, speed, reciprocating-mode state and travel steps are retained. After 20 seconds without key activity, β€œ--” indicates automatic saving. On the next power-up, the motor can start automatically in the remembered direction and speed; keep the mechanism clear before powering on.

Installation Notes

Disconnect power before wiring or changing motor connections. Use an appropriate regulated DC supply and avoid overvoltage, reverse polarity and operation against a mechanical stop. Test the assembly at low speed before unattended reciprocating use. The source's general motor care sheet is not an additional controller voltage or torque rating.
