Overview

BETAFPV ELRS Nano Receiver is based on the ExpressLRS project, an open-source RC link for RC applications. ExpressLRS aims to achieve strong link performance in speed, latency, and range, while using CRSF (Crossfire serial protocol) to communicate with a flight controller.

Key Features

  • ExpressLRS receiver with CRSF serial output protocol
  • Input voltage: 5V
  • Antenna connector: U.FL MHF (labeled IPEX MHF on the board diagram)
  • Receiver binding method: power on/off three times to enter bind mode (LED quick double blink indicates bind mode; solid light indicates bound)
  • Labeled onboard parts (diagram): LED, WiFi antenna, firmware upgrade button
  • Labeled pads (diagram): RX, TX, VCC, GND

Diagram Notes (Firmware & Binding)

  • Firmware note: the Nano receiver and module manufactured by BETAFPV is ELRS 3.3.0.
  • Suggestion: upgrade modules and receivers to ELRS 3.3.0; TX module and receiver must be on the same ELRS version to match successfully.
  • Note states: 2.4G Nano TX Module supports 500 Hz refresh rate.
  • Note states: short press the button on the Nano module 3 times to enter binding status.

Configuration & Bind

ExpressLRS uses the Crossfire serial protocol (CRSF) between the receiver and flight controller. Ensure the flight controller supports CRSF serial protocol, then enable the corresponding UART as a Serial RX in Betaflight, and set the receiver protocol to CRSF. Telemetry is optional and can reduce stick update rate due to transmit slots used for telemetry.

  • Wiring (as shown in the diagram): FC TX → RX, FC RX → TX, 5V → 5V, GND → GND
  • Bind steps: plug in and unplug (power cycle) the nano receiver three times; quick double blink LED indicates bind mode; solid light indicates bound
  • Note: binding once stores binding information for automatic reconnection after re-power
