Z-Folding Process

The Z-Folding Process battery is described as having low internal resistance to support high-current discharge over shorter time frames and a higher discharge platform. Under equivalent loads, it is stated to provide a 0.2V higher discharge platform compared with winding process batteries, along with 5% higher energy density in the same volume and extended cycle life. The process also allows customization of electrode sizes to better control battery size and shape.

Warnings

  • Fully charge the new battery before use.
  • Only use a charger designed for lithium polymer/Li-ion battery, and never leave the battery unattended during charging.
  • Keep the battery away from flammable materials while charging.
  • Never overcharge: maximum voltage is 4.2V per cell for LiPo and 4.35V per cell for LiHV.
  • Never discharge below 3V per cell under load.
  • Do not store fully charged batteries for more than 3 days; for long-term storage keep 3.8V to 3.9V.
  • Do not disassemble, crush, short circuit, or expose to flame/ignition sources.
  • Do not use batteries that are deformed or swollen.
