Overview
The BetaFPV Matrix 1S 5IN1 II is a brushless flight controller that integrates FC + ESC + VTX + RX + OSD in a single board for 1S whoop builds. It features a 12A continuous ESC, 3-point mounting, and two build options (solder-free or solder-required) for different installation and weight preferences.
Key Features
- 5-in-1 integration: FC + ESC + 5.8GHz VTX + serial ELRS 2.4GHz RX + Betaflight OSD
- ESC output: 12A continuous (18A peak)
- 3-point mounting and 1.0mm PCB thickness
- Two versions: solder-free (pre-soldered motor connectors and power cable) or solder-required (larger solder pads for DIY wiring)
- MCU shown on product graphics: STM32G473CEU6

Configuration Notes
- VTX power: higher VTX power consumes more energy and generates more heat; for indoor scenarios, 25~100mW is recommended for improved flight time.
- VTX antenna: connect and install the 5.8GHz antenna before powering on, or set transmission power to 0 to help avoid burnout.
- UART defaults: UART2 is connected to the VTX and UART3 is connected to the RX. To release UART3, remove the resistor.
- Betaflight port setup text shown in diagrams: set UART2 Peripherals as VTX (TBS SmartAudio), and set UART3 as Serial RX for the receiver.
- Receiver setup text shown in diagrams: set Receiver Mode to “Serial-based receiver” and set Serial Receiver Provider to “CRSF”.
Serial ELRS 2.4G RX Notes
- Uses CRSF (Crossfire serial protocol) for communication between receiver and flight controller.
- Bind mode entry: power on/off three times; RX LED quick double blink indicates bind mode; solid light indicates bound.
- Firmware update methods stated: via Wi-Fi or Betaflight serial passthrough.
