Overview
The GEPRC RX as TX JR-Bay Modification Kit is a JR-Bay Modification Kit designed as a quick DIY solution that takes advantage of an ExpressLRS (ELRS) receiver’s ability to upgrade via firmware into an external TX module. Tagline: “Effortless Modification, Unleash Your DIY Spirit.”
It is compatible with a wide range of controllers featuring a JR bay, supports a dual-antenna JR-bay design (Ant1/Ant2), and offers quick connections using pogo pins, SH1.0, or soldering. The 3D-printed version uses a vibrant multi-color PLA shell and includes receiver mounting parts designed for GEPRC receivers.

Installation
- Open the ExpressLRS Configurator or use the ELRS online flashing website: https://expresslrs.github.io/web-flasher/
- Select the corresponding receiver model.
- In the advanced settings, enable the “RX as TX” option and set it to “external” TX.
- Follow the standard flashing procedure to install the “RX as TX” firmware. After rebooting, the receiver will function as a TX module.
- Wire the receiver to the kit: connect receiver GND, 5V, TX to the JR-Bay Modification Kit GND, 5V, SP respectively.
- Visible JR-bay/connection labels: NC, SP, 5V, GND
- Configurator items shown: Compatibility options include RCVR_UART_BAUD and RX_AS_TX; value set to external
- Advanced Settings values shown: WiFi “auto on” interval 60 seconds; “RX as External TX module (Half-duplex)”; TLM report interval 240 milliseconds
