Overview
The SpeedyBee Smart Short-Circuit Protector Smart Power Tester is an XT60 in-line safety module with a digital display, designed to add current limiting and short-circuit protection during power-on and output activation. It provides real-time battery voltage and output current monitoring to support safer setup and troubleshooting on 4–6S builds (max 6S LiPo).
Key Features
- Digital display with real-time voltage and current display (display alternates between voltage and current readings after output is turned on).
- Dual-stage protection: current limiting and short-circuit protection for all-in-one safety.
- Switchable current limit: 1 A / 2 A (selectable according to device needs).
- Super-fast short-circuit response: as low as 5 ms; cuts power within 5 ms for safety protection.
- Short circuit protection supports protection during power-on and output activation to help prevent accidental short circuits.
- High current timeout protection: at the 2 A level, if current continuously exceeds 1.5 A for 60 s, the output will automatically shut off to prevent circuit overload.
- Secondary hardware short-circuit protection: onboard 2 A fuse provides extra protection if software protection fails.
- Controls and ports: XT60 power input port, XT60 power output port, power output ON/OFF switch, current protection selector (1 A/2 A).

What’s Included
- Short-Circuit Protection Module x 1
Applications
- Flight controller power-up safety checks
- ESC power-up and troubleshooting
- Motor and electronics testing
- Analog VTX and HD VTX power verification
- LED strip power testing
User Manual
- When powered by a 4–6S battery, the digital display shows the current battery voltage.
- Press the [1 A/2 A] button to switch the current limit; the digital display will show the selected level.
- Press the [ON/OFF] button to turn the power output on or off.
- The current limit cannot be changed while output is on. Turn off the output first to switch the level.
- The short-circuit protection module does not support voltages above 6S; using a higher voltage battery may damage it.
- When the output is turned on, the [ON] indicator will light up. If voltage is already present at the output, the indicator also lights up.
- If the output current exceeds 1.5 A continuously for 60 s, the protection circuit will automatically shut off the output.
- If the red indicator flashes, it means the software protection has failed and a short circuit or overcurrent has occurred, triggering the secondary hardware protection. Disconnect the battery immediately.
