Overview
The SteadyWin GIM8108-9 Planetary Reducer Robot Motor is a compact, high-torque joint actuator designed for precision motion control in advanced robotics and automation. Integrating a 9:1 planetary gearbox, brushless motor, encoder, and driver interface in a low-profile 96 mm housing, it delivers up to 221 W power, low backlash, and stable output for demanding robotic joints and mobile platforms.
Key Features
- Planetary reducer robot motor with 9:1 gear ratio, steel gears, and approximately 15 arcmin backlash for accurate, repeatable positioning.
- High power density with 192 W (SDC103) or 221 W (SDC303) output and nominal torque up to 8.78 N m, suited to compact robotic joints.
- Wide electrical operating range – supports a supply range of 12-48 V and an output speed range of approximately 159-245 rpm, depending on the driver configuration and operating point.
- Stable torque characteristics – torque constant from 0.96 to 1.83 N m/A and stall torque up to 27.38 N m for reliable performance under varying load conditions.
- Integrated sensing – 14-bit encoder resolution with second encoder support indicated, enabling precise joint position and speed control; separate external encoder is not supported.
- Robust mechanical design – steel planetary gear train, maximum axial load of 225 N and radial load of 900 N in a compact diameter 96 mm package.
- Low noise and environmental protection – operating noise <60 dB and IP54 protection grade for use in typical indoor and light industrial environments.
- Versatile communication interfaces – CAN and 485 communication on the SDC103 driver option, and CAN on the SDC303 option for easy integration into robotic control networks.
- Safety and reliability – designed with over-temperature and over-voltage protection features and a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +80°C.
- Compact, integration-ready form factor – only 34 mm long without driver or 41.5 mm with driver, enabling dense multi-joint layouts in humanoid, quadruped, and arm robots.
- Custom brake support – supports the addition of a customized brake where required by the application.
