Overview

The DFRobot SEN0161-V2 Gravity: Lab-Grade Analog pH Sensor Kit measures solution pH (0–14) with a laboratory-grade glass electrode and an upgraded signal conversion board. It supports 3.3–5.5 V mainboards, outputs 0–3.0 V analog, and uses two-point calibration (pH 4.00 & pH 7.00) with automatic buffer recognition for fast, stable setup. Ideal for aquaponics, aquaculture, and environmental testing. Works out-of-the-box with Arduino; for Raspberry Pi, use an external ADC.

Key Features

  • Wide supply: 3.3–5.5 V compatible with 5 V & 3.3 V MCUs

  • Stable analog output: hardware-filtered, low jitter, 0–3.0 V

  • Simple calibration: software library with two-point auto buffer ID (4.00/7.00)

  • Plug-and-play: Gravity 3-pin (PH2.0) + BNC probe connector

  • Uniform form factor: easy mechanical integration across Gravity sensors

  • Lab-grade probe: 0–14 detection range, ±0.1 @25 °C accuracy

Compatibility & Applications

  • Microcontrollers: Arduino (direct), ESP32, STM32, etc.

  • Single-board computers: Raspberry Pi with external ADC (since output is analog).

  • Use cases: aquaponics, aquaculture, hydroponics, laboratories, field sampling, education.

What’s Included (Shipping List)

  • Lab-grade pH probe (BNC) ×1

  • pH signal conversion board (V2) ×1

  • Gravity analog sensor cable ×1

  • pH 4.00 buffer powder ×2

  • pH 7.00 buffer powder ×2

  • Waterproof gasket ×2

  • BNC screw cap ×1

  • M3×10 nylon pillars ×4

  • M3×5 screws ×8

Important Notes

  • Keep the BNC connector and signal board dry and clean to maintain high input impedance and accuracy.

  • Do not place the board on wet/semiconductive surfaces; mount with the supplied nylon pillars.

  • Protect the probe’s glass bulb from impact/scratches.

  • After use, disconnect the probe from the board; avoid leaving it connected without power for long periods.

  • The probe cap contains 3.3 mol/L KCl storage solution; salt crystals around the cap are normal—return them to the cap solution.

  • Designed for laboratory/testing environments; extended continuous immersion can lead to measurement drift.

Calibration & Use (Summary)

  1. Rinse probe, blot gently.

  2. Calibrate with pH 7.00, then pH 4.00 buffers using the library’s two-point routine.

  3. Measure; rinse between samples; store probe with KCl solution in the cap.
