Overview
The Hobbywing XeRun AXE 540L/550 is an RC brushless motor using FOC (Field-Oriented Control) technology for rock crawler and trail driving, supporting linear throttle response, high torque output, and quiet operation. It features a sealed, waterproof and dust-proof design (IP67 standards) and a sensor system designed for consistent rotor-position signaling.

- FOC (Field-Oriented Control) brushless system for rock crawlers: super linearity, high torque, and extreme silence.
- "Polarity protection": a chip-type magnetic encoder inside the motor helps guarantee consistency between three phases’ signals and outputs precise rotor position signals.
- Waterproof and dust-proof design (IP67 standards) for use in all-weather and track conditions.
- Intelligent torque output and speed closed-loop control for consistent motor RPM under load.
- 4 poles and 12 magnets with Hobbywing “staggered pole” rotor design for ultra-low torque ripple and smooth low-speed operation with no cogging.
- Built-in high-precision magnetic encoder to provide precise and consistent information to the ESC (more information than standard “hall” type sensors).
- Innovative sensor port and sensor harness: plug-and-screw design with silicone O-ring sealing to help prevent loosening and improve sealing at the sensor connection.
- High driving efficiency for long battery life (FOC sensors provide significant improvements compared to standard brushless setups).
