Overview

The Holybro Pixhawk Debug Adapter is a compact, high-performance tool designed to streamline the debugging of Pixhawk-compatible flight controllers. It supports both FMUv5 6-pin and FMUvX 10-pin target connectors, providing a reliable JTAG SWD and Serial interface for seamless firmware development, troubleshooting, and hardware testing.

This adapter integrates an FTDI serial interface, eliminating the need for external FTDI cables and ensuring stable communication without backfeeding the FMU. Its design is ideal for both development environments and automated test racks.

Key Features

  • Dual Target Compatibility: Supports 6-pin (FMUv5) and 10-pin (FMUvX) Pixhawk debug standards

  • Built-in FTDI Interface: No need for external FTDI cables; ensures reliable and isolated communication

  • No FMU Backfeed: Designed to prevent power feedback to the FMU for safer debugging

  • JTAG Host Interface Support:

    • 10-pin ARM interface (compatible with Segger J-Link Mini)

    • 20-pin ARM interface (compatible with Segger J-Link or ST-Link)

  • Accessible GND Points: Easy grounding during bench testing

  • Target Reset Options: Via push button, JTAG, or optionally RTS (serial interface)

  • 2x CPU GPIO Support: Available via 10-pin cable for signal timing analysis

Jumper Options

Jumper Function
JP1 Solder to bypass RXD_DEBUG protection diode (typically unnecessary)
JP2 Solder to connect HOST RTS to CPU reset (useful for automated reset control)

Included in the Package

  • 1 × Pixhawk Debug Adapter Board

  • 1 × JST SH 6-Pin Cable

  • 1 × JST SH 10-Pin Cable

  • 1 × USB Type-C Cable

Use Cases

  • Firmware debugging for Pixhawk-based FMUv5/FMUvX flight controllers

  • Real-time signal monitoring via GPIO

  • Automated test setups requiring serial and JTAG control

  • Safe and reliable development workflows without FMU power conflict
