Overview

The MAD FOC 100A 8-14S ESC is a Field-Oriented Control (FOC) electronic speed controller designed for industrial UAVs, heavy-lift drones, and professional aerial applications. Engineered to deliver optimized throttle response, efficient energy utilization, and smooth motor control, this ESC supports 8-14S LiPo batteries (up to 60.9V) and operates at a continuous current of 80A, with a peak current of 100A under optimal cooling conditions.

Unlike traditional ESCs, the FOC sine wave modulation ensures quieter operation, reduced heat generation, and improved stability in harsh environments. Its integrated CAN communication interface allows real-time flight control data exchange, firmware updates, and advanced diagnostics, making it ideal for precision UAV applications.

⚠ Important Note: This FOC ESC requires motor and propeller details before purchase for the correct firmware configuration. If no details are provided, it will be shipped with the default firmware. The FOC ESC firmware upgrade tutorial can be found on the product page.

Key Features

  • Supports 8-14S LiPo Batteries – Wide input voltage range up to 60.9V for high-power UAV applications.
  • Field-Oriented Control (FOC) Technology – Delivers smooth, precise motor control with higher efficiency and lower noise than traditional ESCs.
  • Fast Acceleration & Deceleration Response – Reacts within 10ms to throttle changes for instantaneous power adjustments.
  • Optimized Heat Dissipation Design – Features dual-sided heat dissipation for superior thermal resistance, ensuring stable operation under heavy loads.
  • Comprehensive Protection Mechanisms:
    • Short Circuit & Overcurrent Protection – Prevents system damage from electrical faults.
    • Overvoltage & Undervoltage Protection – Ensures safe operation within the 16V-60.9V range.
    • Temperature Protection – Automatically reduces output at 125°C, shutting down at 140°C, and restoring operation when cooled to 80°C.
    • PWM Throttle Identification Protection – Prevents misoperation due to unintended interference.
  • CAN Communication Interface – Enables real-time monitoring, data logging, and firmware upgrades for advanced UAV integration.
  • Lightweight & Compact – Weighs only 85g (excluding wires), making it ideal for professional drone applications.
  • Electric Modulation Design – Completely separates motor, power, and signal lines, simplifying installation and reducing interference.
