Overview
RPLiDAR S2 is a low-cost two-dimensional laser range scanner (laser range scanner product_type) designed for 360° omnidirectional scanning on a 2D plane within a 30 m radius. It uses time-of-flight (ToF) ranging to generate flat point cloud maps for applications such as mapping, robot positioning and navigation, and object/environment modeling. With non-contact energy and signal transmission, the S2 delivers long-term reliable operation in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Description
RPLiDAR S2 adopts laser time-of-flight ranging technology and SLAMTEC high-speed acquisition and processing, achieving 32,000 ranging actions per second. Its non-contact energy and signal transmission design overcomes the life limitations of traditional lidar for long-term stable use. Compared with other series, S2 offers more stable ranging performance for long-distance targets, transitions between black/white objects, and strong light conditions, enabling ideal mapping within a 30 m ranging radius in indoor and outdoor environments.
