Overview
The CHIHAI MOTOR CHR-RD370 is a compact brushed DC motor with a black cylindrical housing, a 2 mm round output shaft and a serviceable carbon-brush end assembly. Choose the 6 V / 10,000 rpm or 12 V / 19,800 rpm winding, a short or long shaft, and the connection/mounting package needed for your model drivetrain or DIY mechanism.
Features
- Copper armature winding and wet-pressed ferrite magnets.
- Extended carbon brushes in a removable end-cap assembly.
- Forward and reverse operation by reversing motor polarity.
- Speed can be adjusted using a suitable external DC motor controller.
- Approximately 50 g motor mass; optional soldered bullet-connector leads and mounting bracket.
Configuration Guide
Three independent selections define each actual configuration: Package, Voltage and No-Load Speed, and Shaft Length. The two voltage choices are different windings; the listed speed is the no-load value at the selected voltage.
| Package | Included |
|---|---|
| Motor Only | 1 motor with terminals |
| Motor + Bullet Leads | 1 motor with soldered bullet-connector leads |
| Motor + Bracket | 1 motor and 1 mounting bracket |
| Motor + Bullet Leads + Bracket | 1 motor with soldered bullet-connector leads and 1 bracket |
Lead packages use approximately 15 cm AWG16 wire. A controller, gearbox, battery, driven mechanism and replacement brushes are not included. Bracket fastening hardware is not specified as included.
Specifications
| Parameter | 12 V winding | 6 V winding |
|---|---|---|
| No-load speed | 19,800 rpm | 10,000 rpm |
| No-load current | 0.42 A | 0.30 A |
| Rated speed | 17,000 rpm | 8,400 rpm |
| Rated current | 2.6 A | 1.5 A |
| Rated torque | 125 g·cm (12.3 mN·m) | 48 g·cm (4.7 mN·m) |
| Stall current | 16 A | 8 A |
| Stall torque | 900 g·cm | 400 g·cm |
| Listed maximum power | 45 W | 8 W |
Maximum power and stall values are separate from the rated operating point. Avoid sustained stall and provide a controller, wiring and power supply appropriate to the selected winding and starting current. The motor is sold without a reduction gearbox.
Mechanical Dimensions and Installation
| Model | CHR-RD370 |
|---|---|
| Can diameter | 24.4 mm |
| Can length reference | 29.3 mm |
| Output shaft | 2 mm diameter, round |
| Short-shaft projection | 5 mm |
| Long-shaft projection | Nominal 10 mm option; drawing specifies 10.5 ± 0.5 mm |
| Overall length reference | 41.5 mm short shaft; 47.5 mm long shaft |
| Front mounting | 2 × M3 holes, 17 mm center spacing |
| Motor mass | Approximately 50 g, motor only |
Check shaft engagement, mounting screw insertion depth and coupling clearance before assembly. Mounting screws must not contact the rotating armature. Disconnect power before servicing the brush assembly.
Applications
Suitable for model-truck and model-car drivetrains, custom gearboxes, compact mechanisms and experimental motion projects that match the selected winding, shaft and load. Gear reduction and mechanical adaptation must be selected for the application.
FAQ
Is the motor supplied with a gearbox?
No. This is the bare high-speed motor; only the selected leads and bracket are added.
Can I reverse the rotation?
Yes. Reversing the polarity at the motor terminals reverses rotation. Use a compatible reversing controller when switching electrically.
Does every package include bullet leads?
No. Leads are fitted only to the two packages explicitly listing Bullet Leads.
