Overview

This Beitian 240 series GNSS/GPS module is a compact GPS module with integrated ceramic antenna and electronic compass, designed for serial-port positioning and navigation in UAV & FPV drones, flight control, robotics, Arduino DIY, automotive positioning, industrial IoT, and timing applications. Provided model names: BE-240i / BF-240i / BH-240i.

Key Features

  • Multi-constellation positioning options (model dependent): GPS / BDS / GALILEO, with some versions also supporting GLONASS G1 and IRNSS.
  • Horizontal accuracy (model dependent): 2.0 m CEP or 1.5 m CEP.
  • TTL-level serial output; protocols: NMEA, UBX.
  • Configurable update rate (model dependent): 0.25 Hz–18 Hz (default 1 Hz) or 1 Hz–20 Hz (default 10 Hz).
  • Built-in electronic compass (QMC5883 series; exact part varies by version).
  • Integrated antenna design; antenna does not need to be externally connected.
  • LED indicator behavior (documented for BE-240P): PPS light is off before positioning; after 3D positioning, the blue light flashes.

  • PC configuration: use a USB to TTL cable to connect to a computer for configuration (PL-2303HX/TA chip USB to TTL level conversion cable).
  • GPS module to USB-to-TTL wiring: RX, TX, GND, VCC connected to the USB-to-TTL cable TX, RX, GND, VCC (cross RX/TX).
  • GPS module and microcontroller wiring diagram shows pins: 1PPS, GND, VCC, RX, TX, BOOT connected to microcontroller IO, GND, VCC, TX, RX.
  • GPS module and flight control wiring diagram note (as written): TX RX cross-connects to the TX RX I2C interface of the flight controller without cross-connecting.
