Overview

Livox TELE-15 is a long-range LiDAR sensor designed for advanced long-distance detection with a compact form factor, high precision, and durability. It is intended to help vehicles detect obstacles earlier at higher speeds and supports integration into robotics and perception systems via Ethernet data output.

Key Features

  • Long-range detection: 500 m detection range (50% reflectivity) and 320 m (10% reflectivity) at 100 klx.
  • High point cloud precision: Range precision 2 cm (1σ @ 20 m) and angular precision < 0.03° (1σ).
  • Optics and beam shaping: Beam divergence 0.12° (Vertical) x 0.02° (Horizontal); described as using a large-diameter double-aspheric lens in long-focus optical design.
  • Point output: 240,000 points/s (480,000 points/s Dual Return).
  • Non-repetitive scanning patterns: FOV coverage 99.8% @ 0.1 s; described as covering 99.8% of the FOV in 100 ms.
  • Low latency: Data latency ≤ 2 ms.
  • Built-in IMU and SDK ecosystem: Built-in IMU model BMI088; described IMU data frequency 200 Hz with timestamp information and status-indicating code. Livox SDK is described as supporting C, C++, and Python on Linux, Windows, and ROS, with commonly used algorithms such as SLAM and external parameter calibration.
  • Environmental protection: IP67 rating; operating temperature -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C).
  • Safety: Laser safety Class 1 (IEC60825-1:2014). The 905 nm laser system is described as TÜV Rheinland certified and meeting Class 1 eye safety standards.

Point Cloud Examples (as presented)

  • Tele-15 Point Cloud Data @FPS = 10Hz (Test Object: Black SUV): Length/Width/Height (mm) 4,855/1,925/1,720. Point clouds vs distance: 20 m (3176), 60 m (623), 100 m (144), 160 m (57), 200 m (47), 240 m (37), 300 m (28), 400 m (20), 500 m (14).
