Overview

The Hobbywing FLYFUN V5 130A HV OPTO is an electronic speed controller (ESC) for brushless motors, designed for 6-14S LiPo power systems. It uses a high-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor (running frequency up to 72MHz) and includes DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) technology to improve throttle response, driving efficiency, and operating temperature.

  • 32-bit MCU control: High-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor (up to 72MHz), compatible with various brushless motors.
  • Separate DC regulator for the MCU: Improved anti-interference performance and reduced risk of control loss.
  • DEO Technology / Active Freewheeling:
    • More rapid and smoother throttle response; improved stability and flexibility during flight.
    • Higher driving efficiency and longer flight time.
    • Lower ESC temperature for more reliable operation.
  • Start-up modes: Normal / Soft / Very Soft start-up modes for regular propeller aircraft and EDF aircraft (select “Very Soft Start-up” when using EDF).
  • Brake modes (availability depends on model): Normal brake mode, proportional brake mode, and brake disabled mode. Reverse brake mode is not available on the FLYFUN 130A/160A-HV-OPTO-V5.
  • Programmability: Multiple programmable parameters for different fixed-wing setups, adjustable via transmitter or Hobbywing LED program box (using a separate programming cable).
  • Protection functions: Start-up protection, ESC thermal protection, capacitor thermal protection, over-current protection, over-load protection, abnormal input voltage protection, and throttle signal loss protection.
  • BEC note: The FLYFUN V5 series includes versions with a high-power switch-mode BEC (8A/20A, adjustable 5.2V/6.0V/7.4V). This 130A HV OPTO V5 version has no BEC.
