Overview
The Yahboom color recognition module uses a ZC-CLS381 professional color recognition chip to judge different colors by detecting RGB values. Compared with an ordinary grayscale sensor module, it is less affected by the environment, with a wider recognition range and faster recognition speed. The module communicates via I2C and supports three wiring methods: alligator clip connection, DuPont line connection, or PH2.0 cable connection.

Key Features
- On-board ZC-CLS381 professional color recognition chip (RGB-based color judgment).
- I2C communication (SDA/SCL).
- Three connection methods: alligator clip interface, DuPont line interface, PH2.0 cable interface.
- MakeCode graphical programming support.
- Interface design notes:
- Side row female interface advantages: not easy to short circuit; flat profile for multi-level connection; does not affect the user experience of button modules.
- Four-corner alligator clip interface: clips are far apart at the four corners, not easy to short, suitable for fast connection.
- PH2.0 foolproof interface: keyed insertion for easier use.
- Default assembly note: the module has been soldered to the DuPont interface and PH2.0 cable interface by default.

Details

The ZC-CLS381 chip reads RGB values over I2C to help micro:bit projects detect and classify colors.

Three connector styles make wiring flexible for classrooms, prototypes, and tidy final builds.

Alligator clips are spaced at the corners to reduce shorts and speed up testing with micro:bit.

Use standard DuPont jumpers for breadboards and common development boards that expose SDA/SCL.

The keyed PH2.0 cable connection helps keep polarity consistent and setup simple.

I2C support makes the sensor easy to integrate across many controllers and expansion boards.

Compared with a typical grayscale sensor, RGB-based recognition is designed to be less sensitive to ambient changes.

Suitable for color sorting, warehouse color management, and other automation experiments.

Pin labels make it quick to wire power plus SDA/SCL for I2C communication.

Compact 29.4 Ă 36 mm board supports 3.3V or 5V power for flexible builds.
