Configuration Guide

A and B identify different motor winding references. The 12V A and 12V B versions have different speed, current and maximum-output references; match the complete voltage/winding choice to its table. The Package and Lead option combines the selected accessory set with its lead-end style, while ratio and voltage/winding remain separate selections.

The wheel package contains one 65 mm wheel, one 6 mm coupling and the bracket with the selected motor. The illustrated blue, red and yellow wheels are alternative tread/rim examples, not three included wheels. No particular tread or rim color is guaranteed by the available selections.

Encoder and Wiring

The board has an 11PPR motor-shaft base encoder, 22 magnetic poles /11 pole pairs, a 100 kHz response reference and onboard pull-up/shaping resistors. Output-shaft pulses depend on the actual reduction ratio; decoder edge counting is separate.

Board terminal, top-to-bottom in diagram Function
M1 Motor power input1
GND Encoder supply negative
C1 Encoder channel A
C2 Encoder channel B
VCC Encoder regulated3.3V/5V positive
M2 Motor power input2

Use board labels and the selected harness orientation rather than assuming a common wire-color order across all lead styles. Supply encoder VCC separately with regulated 3.3V or 5V, and keep selected motor voltage away from the encoder supply and signals. Reverse M1/M2 polarity for opposite motor rotation. A separate motor driver and pulse-reading controller are required for a complete feedback-control system.

Performance by Voltage and Winding

No-load, rated and stall figures describe different operating conditions. Maximum output is a separate reference, not continuous power at every reduction ratio. The kgf·cm and N·m columns are independently rounded. Avoid overload and sustained stall; red-table ≥35 kgf·cm references explicitly prohibit stalled operation.

24V B

Maximum output reference 6 W; no-load current ≤200 mA; rated current ≤0.7 A; stall current ≤2.5 A.

Mechanical Installation

The engineering drawing gives an 18.5 mm shaft projection and M3 x0.5 center thread with 10 mm effective depth. A dimension photograph shows a 16.5 mm shaft reference; verify the actual required shaft clearance before machining a coupled assembly. The optional bracket has a 38 mm width, 46 mm upright, 30 mm base and 3 mm material thickness. Its two central openings are10 mm; mounting holes are3.3 mm with7.8 mm counterbore references, and base slots are4.1 mm wide with18 mm length reference and32 mm spacing.

Worm gearing resists back-driving and is intended to hold against ordinary reverse loads when power is removed. Holding behavior depends on ratio, load and mechanism; verify it for the application and provide an independent holding device where load safety requires it. Do not force the shaft, overload the gears or use sustained stall as a holding method. Match power supply, motor driver and protection to the selected winding and startup current.

Applications

Suitable for matched self-balancing robot development, inspection and line-following carts, smart appliances, camera pan mechanisms and powered positioning assemblies using external control electronics. Size the gearing, shaft support and holding method for the actual load.

What's Included

One selected CHW-GW4632-370ABHL encoder motor with the selected lead-end style. The bracket package adds the illustrated bracket and mounting hardware. The wheel package adds the bracket, one6 mm coupling, one65 mm wheel and pictured installation parts. A second motor, complete robot, power supply, motor driver and encoder controller are not included.

FAQ

Are 12V A and 12V B the same motor?

They are different winding selections with different speed and current references. Use the table matching the complete voltage/winding choice.

Can the encoder use the motor supply?

Encoder VCC requires separate regulated3.3V or5V. Do not connect the6V,12V or24V motor supply to the encoder supply or signal pins.

Does the wheel package include three wheels?

No. It contains one wheel. The different rim colors and tread patterns illustrate alternatives rather than additional pieces.

Is 11PPR the gearbox output resolution?

It is the motor-shaft base pulse count. Output pulses scale with the actual ratio and the external decoder counting method.
