Overview
The CHIHAI GM16-1629 is a compact 6V coreless DC gear motor combining a permanent-magnet motor with an all-metal reduction gear train. Choose a faster 10:1 output or a slower, higher-torque 360:1 configuration, with a mounting bracket available for selected speeds.
Features
- Rare-earth permanent-magnet coreless motor for responsive, low-noise operation.
- All-metal gears for wear resistance.
- Forward and reverse rotation.
- 3mm D-shaped output shaft with a nominal 10mm extension.
- Two-wire lead with a compact 2-pin connector.

Output performance at 6V
| Ratio | No-load speed | Rated speed | Rated torque | Stall torque |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10:1 | 1450 rpm | 1050 rpm | 0.08kg·cm | ≥0.25kg·cm |
| 20:1 | 720 rpm | 530 rpm | 0.15kg·cm | ≥0.55kg·cm |
| 35:1 | 410 rpm | 300 rpm | 0.27kg·cm | ≥1.0kg·cm |
| 360:1 | 40 rpm | 30 rpm | 2.8kg·cm | Not specified individually |
Option speeds are no-load output speeds. Output speed decreases under load; select the ratio using rated torque and rated speed.
Applications
Suitable for compact motion mechanisms in robotic hands, small robots, fingerprint locks, powered furniture, focusing systems and miniature pan-tilt assemblies when the required voltage, torque and mounting dimensions match.
What's Included
- Motor Only: one GM16-1629 motor in the selected reduction ratio, with lead and connector.
- Motor + Bracket: one selected motor, mounting bracket and pictured installation hardware. Available with 20:1 or 35:1 reduction.
Power supply, speed controller and driven mechanism are not included.
Installation and Use
Use a suitable 6V DC supply and check connector polarity before power-up. The connector drawing labels pin 1 as red positive and pin 2 as negative; the photographed negative lead appears blue-green, so identify polarity by the connector pinout rather than insulation colour alone. Confirm shaft fit, mounting-hole spacing and bracket dimensions before installation.
Avoid overload and stalled operation, which can damage the motor or gear train. Reducing speed electrically can reduce available torque; assess the load at the intended operating speed. Mechanical noise varies with speed and load.
FAQ
Are the listed rpm values measured under load?
No. The option names use no-load speed at 6V. Use the separate rated-speed column when comparing performance under rated load.
Does every speed include a bracket option?
No. The bracket package is offered here only with the 20:1 and 35:1 configurations. All four ratios are available as motor-only options.
