Overview

The ZeroErr eCoder45 is an axial-reading absolute magnetic encoder with an RS485 interface. It is available in single-lap and multi-turn versions with selectable 17-bit, 18-bit, 19-bit, or 20-bit resolution.

Features

45 mm through-hole opening for passage of mechanical structures, cables, and air lines.
Programmable zero position stored in internal EEPROM.
Precision positioning reference for installation.
8-pin connection and 4.7–5.4 V supply-voltage range.
Applicable in dust-contaminated, heavy-oil-contaminated, and high- or low-temperature environments; the stated harsh-environment applicability excludes complex electromagnetic environments.
Uses the standard RS-485 protocol and is compatible with Tamagawa absolute encoders.
Mechanical layout includes section A-A and a ring-shaped encoder body with an integrated side electronics section.

The single-lap version supports RS-485. The multi-turn version is a non-contact, multi-turn absolute encoder that supports RS-485 and allows mechanical structures, cables, and air lines to pass through the opening.

The multi-turn 20-bit configuration is a 20-bit multi-turn absolute encoder specified with 2¹⁶ counting revolutions and programmable, storable point-by-point position compensation. With position compensation, its stated repeatability is ±5 arcseconds.
