JGB37-555 Brushed DC Gear Motor
The JGB37-555 is a compact brushed DC gear motor with a metal reduction gearbox, a 6mm D-shaped output shaft and reversible rotation. Choose a 12V or 24V motor, the required no-load output speed, and a motor-only or accessory package for robotics, small mechanisms and electronics projects.
The selectable speeds are 7, 12, 22, 36, 46, 67, 107, 200, 316, 600 and 960 RPM. These options match the supplier's 6000RPM motor-before-reduction series. Output RPM is measured without load; speed decreases under load. A bracket shown in a photograph is included only when the selected Package names a bracket.
Construction and Speed Control
- Metal reduction gears in a multi-stage arrangement, copper winding, permanent-magnet motor and carbon brushes.
- PWM speed control is possible with a compatible external brushed-DC controller. A controller is included only in the specified packages.
- For the bare two-terminal motor, reversing motor-lead polarity reverses rotation. With a controller fitted, use its direction control and keep controller supply polarity correct.
- The gear ratio determines the speed/torque trade-off. Reducing speed electrically does not provide the same torque increase as selecting a higher reduction ratio.

Performance by Voltage and Gear Ratio
Output speeds below are no-load speeds. Loaded speeds and torque are listed at the supplier maximum-efficiency operating point. Values are supplier data, not independent test results. Torque is in kgf·cm, not kilograms of lifting capacity. Stall values are limits, not continuous operating ratings.

Optional Mounting Bracket
The illustrated L-bracket is 1.5mm thick, approximately 40mm wide, with a 40mm base and 47mm upright. The motor mounting pattern is marked 31mm pitch diameter with six 3.2mm holes and 6.3mm recesses. The central opening is marked 2 × R6.5 with 14mm centre spacing. The base drawing shows four 3.5mm holes at 24 × 30mm spacing and an 8mm side offset; the upright includes a 20mm reference dimension. The bracket is supplied only with the applicable Package.
Wiring and Use
Use a DC supply matching the selected motor voltage. In the illustrated controller arrangement, connect the supply to the controller's power input with correct polarity, and connect the controller motor output to the two motor terminals. The illustration shows red positive and black negative motor leads, a speed knob, a reversing switch and a supply adapter connection. Confirm actual terminal labels before powering on. Never reverse the controller's power input to reverse the motor, and stop the motor before changing direction.
Choose the motor by its rated-load torque rather than its stall torque. Do not overload, stall or operate close to stall: the motor or gears can be damaged. Loads above the rated condition reduce speed. Lowering electrical speed can also reduce available torque. Controller ratings, adapter mains-input rating, plug type and included cable/connector details are not fully specified in the supplied listing; verify these details for the selected accessories.
Torque and Unit Reference
For a static load, required torque in kgf·cm equals load in kgf multiplied by lever radius in cm. The supplier illustrates a 10kg load: 10kgf·cm at a 1cm radius, or 100kgf·cm at a 10cm radius. This is an explanatory example, not this motor's lifting rating. Allow for friction, acceleration and the mechanism's actual operating load.
