Overview
This Raspberry Pi 5 heat sink set includes dedicated copper heat sinks for key chips and is supplied with thermal adhesive for simple stick-on installation. It is recommended to use the heat sinks together with a cooling fan to improve overall heat dissipation and help maintain stable performance during prolonged high-load operation.
Key Features
- Designed for Raspberry Pi 5
- Material: copper heat sinks
- 1 set = 4 pieces
- With thermal adhesive
- Tailor-made sizing; not recommended to exchange heat sinks between Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi 4B
Specifications
Heat sink sizes (Unit: mm)
| Piece | Length | Width | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper heat sink | 17 | 17 | 5 |
| Copper heat sink | 15 | 10 | 5 |
| Copper heat sink | 12 | 12 | 5 |

Raspberry Pi 5 heat dissipation test (CPU temperature, degC)
| Test condition | CPU idle | CPU fully loaded |
|---|---|---|
| No heat sink, no fan | 65 | 85 |
| With heat sink, no fan | 65 | 85 |
| No heat sink, with fan | 50 | 73 |
| With heat sink and fan | 48 | 67 |
Note: The data above is obtained in summer, and the ambient temperature is relatively high.
Material comparison data (as provided)
| Material | Heat conductivity (W/m*K) | Specific heat capacity (kJ/kg*K) | Density (g/cm3) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | 401 | 386 | 8.9 |
| Aluminum | 237 | 900 | 2.7 |
What's Included
- Copper heat sink set (1 set = 4 pieces)
Installation Notes
- Peel off the thermal adhesive backing and stick each heat sink onto the corresponding chip.
- It is not recommended to attach a heat sink to the power management chip area due to surrounding electronic components and short-circuit risk.
- The I/O control chip generates a high amount of heat and is close to the CPU and memory; attaching a heat sink is recommended for overall heat dissipation.
- For best results, use a cooling fan together with the heat sinks. Under the provided test conditions, using both reduced CPU temperature by 2-6 degC.
