Overview
This USB-C Power Supply is the official Raspberry Pi 5 power supply, designed to deliver up to 27W and to support higher-power USB peripherals (such as hard drives and SSDs) on Raspberry Pi 5. It also includes USB Power Delivery (PD) profiles for powering compatible third-party PD devices.
Key Features
- Official Raspberry Pi 5 power adapter with 27W USB-C interface (PD power supply)
- Raspberry Pi 5 exclusive mode output: 5.1V/5A
- Standard PD modes output: 5V/3A (also shown as 5.1V/3A in some materials), 9V/3A, 12V/2.25A, 15V/1.8A (maximum 27W)
- Stable 5.1V output across 0–5A current load
- Raspberry Pi 5 firmware behavior note: when such a supply is detected, the USB current limit for peripherals increases to 1.6A, providing 5W extra power for downstream USB devices and 5W extra onboard power
- US plug type

Details

Keep your Raspberry Pi 5 setup stable under load with the official 27W USB‑C power supply designed for higher-power peripherals.

USB Power Delivery profiles support compatible PD devices, while a dedicated mode is optimized for Raspberry Pi 5 power demands.

Official Raspberry Pi 5 power adapter delivers up to 27W via USB‑C with a fixed 1.2 m cable for a clean, reliable power connection.

A compact wall adapter and durable cable make it easy to power Raspberry Pi 5 projects on the bench or in an enclosure.

When Raspberry Pi 5 detects this supply, firmware can raise the downstream USB current limit to help power drives and other USB devices.

Stable 5.1V output across a 0–5A load helps prevent undervoltage issues during CPU and peripheral spikes.

Standard PD modes offer flexible charging for supported devices, while Raspberry Pi 5 mode provides 5.1V/5A for maximum headroom.

Designed specifically for Raspberry Pi 5 to support higher-power USB peripherals without compromising system stability.

Reference dimensions and cable length help confirm fit for power strips, enclosures, and cable routing.

Power Delivery profiles include 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.25A, and 15V/1.8A, plus a Raspberry Pi 5 exclusive 5.1V/5A mode.

What’s included: one official Raspberry Pi 5 USB‑C power adapter with attached cable.
