Configuration Guide
Select all three options together: Package, Reduction Ratio, and Voltage and Motor Code. A code identifies a specific motor winding and performance chart; the same gearbox ratio does not mean the same speed across motor codes. Only available combinations are offered.
Ratios 14:1 and 71:1 are selectable where available, but their speed and torque values are not specified in the performance charts below. Do not interpolate a performance rating for these ratios.
Performance by Motor Code
Values apply at the rated voltage and the stated reduction ratio. Rated speed and torque describe the same rated-load operating point. Maximum listed power is specific to the motor code. Stall torque and current are reference limits and must not be used as continuous operating ratings.

Mechanical Dimensions and Installation
| Ratio | Planetary stages | Gearbox length L (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| 5.2:1 | 1 | 26.5 |
| 14:1 | 1 | 34.5 |
| 19:1 / 27:1 | 2 | 34.5 |
| 51:1 / 100:1 / 139:1 | 3 | 42.5 |
| 264:1 / 515:1 | 4 | 50.5 |
Gearbox length L carries a ±0.5 mm tolerance in the main drawing. Confirm the selected assembly length and coupling fit before machining a mount. The 71:1 option has no confirmed length in the dimensional table. The mounting-bracket drawing specifies a 50 mm height, 43 mm base length and 3 mm plate thickness; use its hole pattern and tolerances for installation.
Applications
Use the motor in robot drive mechanisms, tracking vehicles, camera motion rigs, home automation and electric tape dispensers when the selected speed, torque, supply and mounting dimensions suit the mechanism. External controls and mechanical integration depend on the application.
What's Included
- Motor Only: one CHP-36GP-555-series planetary DC gear motor in the selected configuration.
- Motor + Bracket: one selected motor and one mounting bracket.
Power supply, motor controller and driven mechanism are not included. Photos show representative configurations; the selected motor code and ratio determine the supplied electrical and gearbox specification.
Operating Notes
- Match the DC supply to the selected 12V or 24V motor; avoid overvoltage and undervoltage.
- Select the motor by rated torque and evaluate the load before use. Do not stall or overload the motor.
- Speed falls as load increases. Evaluate torque requirements when reducing speed.
- Operation near or above mechanical limits can damage internal components.
- Operating noise and slight vibration vary with speed and load.
FAQ
How do I choose between the motor codes?
Choose the rated voltage first, then compare the matching code's speed, rated torque and current at your required ratio. 1225# and 1260# use 12V; 2450# and 24120# use 24V.
Does every motor include the mounting bracket?
No. The bracket is included only when you select Motor + Bracket.
Can I use stall torque as the working torque?
No. Select using the rated torque and avoid stall operation; the marked gearbox load limit is also a separate constraint.
