Rated torque, stall torque and maximum allowable gearbox load are different limits. “30 max” marks the maximum allowable load of30kgf·cm (approximately3.0N·m), not a guaranteed minimum stall torque. Avoid stalled operation and do not use stall current as a normal operating target. Maximum output-power figures are references rather than continuous-duty ratings. Select the actual motor voltage and allow for load, startup current and duty cycle.
Hall Encoder and Wiring
The encoder is an AB two-channel incremental magnetic Hall type with a base11PPR signal before reduction. Its magnetic ring has22 poles (11 pole pairs). The two square-wave channels allow direction sensing with suitable electronics. Built-in pull-up/shaping resistors support connection to an appropriate microcontroller input; logic compatibility still needs to match the chosen encoder supply.
| Illustrated lead | Function |
|---|---|
| White / M2 | Motor power terminal M2 |
| Blue / VCC | Encoder supply +3.3V or+5V |
| Green / C2 | Encoder channel B |
| Yellow / C1 | Encoder channel A |
| Black / GND | Encoder supply ground |
| Red / M1 | Motor power terminal M1 |
Connector reference:PH2.0,6pins. Encoder response-frequency reference:100kHz. The basic11PPR is per motor revolution; pulses per gearbox-output revolution equal the basic pulse count times the actual reduction ratio. Quadrature counting totals depend on which signal edges the controller decodes.
Motor power and encoder power are separate. Use the selected6V/12V/24V motor supply only on M1/M2. Supply the encoder with3.3V or5V, and keep motor voltage away from VCC, GND, C1 and C2. Verify connector orientation before connection and disconnect power before rewiring. A suitable bidirectional motor driver can reverse the motor power polarity; stop before changing direction. The encoder provides feedback and does not regulate speed or position by itself.
Applications
Use encoder feedback to measure wheel speed and direction in self-balancing vehicles, small mobile robots, smart mechanisms and inspection projects. A complete closed-loop or balancing system also requires an appropriate motor driver, sensors and control software. Avoid overload, rapid repeated reversals and forcing the gearbox shaft.
What's Included
