Overview
The ASAIR AF2601R75 six-axis force/torque sensor measures three orthogonal force components and three torque components for robotic force control, assembly and multi-axis testing. Its 75 mm diameter, 42 mm high aluminum-alloy body combines silicon strain gauges with a 24-bit synchronous acquisition ADC. RS485 communication with Modbus supports controller integration, while a measurement rate of up to 300 Hz provides feedback for dynamic load-monitoring applications.
Features
- Six-component sensing: measure Fx, Fy, Fz, Tx, Ty and Tz in one compact device.
- Defined axis ranges: 80 N on Fx and Fy, 240 N on Fz, and 4 N·m on each torque axis.
- Strain-gauge acquisition: silicon strain gauges, a 24-bit synchronous ADC and multi-axis decoupling algorithms.
- Controller interface: RS485 with Modbus communication and measurement rates up to 300 Hz.
- Compact construction: anodized aluminum-alloy housing and a flexible, bend-resistant cable.
- Calibration features: temperature compensation and multi-axis calibration support consistent measurement across the specified operating conditions.

FS means full scale. Force and torque values apply to their respective axes and are not a robot payload rating. The overload figure is not a continuous measurement range; check combined loading for your installation.
Applications
- Robotic grinding and precision assembly: use contact-force and torque feedback to develop controlled tooling and insertion routines.
- Hand-guiding and collision detection: integrate multi-axis load feedback into robot teaching and interaction systems.
- Automotive testing: measure multi-component loads in tire-force rigs, crash-dummy load analysis and steering-wheel torque testing, within the sensor's axis ranges.
- Biomechanics and rehabilitation research: measure interaction loads for gait analysis, rehabilitation-robot feedback and prosthetic-socket stress studies.
Application images illustrate integration examples. Fixture fit, load ranges and controller behavior must suit the task; the sensor does not itself provide a complete robot safety or clinical system.
Mechanical Dimensions and Installation
The mechanical drawing shows a 75 mm overall diameter, 42 mm body dimension, Ø63 mm and Ø31.5 mm features, and 7 mm and 2.5 mm offsets. Mounting callouts include Ø50 mm patterns, 4 × Ø6.5 mm holes, 4 × Ø6 H7 holes, 4 × M6 threads 6 mm deep and an Ø6 H7 locating feature 6 mm deep. Read each callout with its corresponding view in Visual Details; unspecified dimensional tolerance is ±0.1 mm.
- Check both mounting faces, the adapter and the tooling against the dimensioned drawing.
- Align the sensing axes with the intended load directions and use the matching mounting hardware.
- Connect a 6–12 VDC supply and a compatible RS485/Modbus controller using the correct pinout and communication settings.
- Zero and check the complete measurement setup before use; apply any required controller-side calibration or compensation.
- Route the flexible cable with strain relief and keep it clear of sharp edges and moving parts.
