The CHIHAI MOTOR CHP-16GP-050 DC gear motor combines a 16 mm planetary gearbox with a compact brushed motor and D-shaped output shaft. Select 12 V or24 V, the exact reduction ratio and a motor-only, controller, rear-shaft or encoder configuration.

Speed and Load References
The24 V selector repeats the 12 V speed labels. Use the voltage-specific values below for matching: for example23:1 is 710 rpm at 12 V and680 rpm at 24 V. These are no-load points; the rated-speed columns apply at the listed rated torque. Non-offered ratios remain family references rather than additional purchasable options.

12 V standard winding: no-load current≤120 mA, rated current≤0.28 A, stall current≤1.5 A.24 V standard winding: no-load current≤90 mA, rated current≤0.25 A, stall current≤0.5 A. Stall-torque reference for 4/16/23/64/90:1 is respectively≥0.23/0.8/1.1/3.0/4.5kgf.cm at 12 V and≥0.2/0.7/1.0/2.5/3.5kgf.cm at 24 V. For higher ratios, maximum permitted gearbox torque is 5.0kgf.cm. Stall points are not operating ratings; do not run stalled.
Controller and Connection
The red-marked motor terminal is positive in the illustrated reference; the opposite terminal is negative. Reversing motor polarity reverses direction. Match the selected nominal motor voltage and controller ratings before connection.
The optional controller illustration lists a 4.5–35 V DC input range. Feed DC only; never connect AC mains directly to the DC controller. PWM changes output duty cycle and motor speed. A mini speed-controller package does not automatically include a reversing switch: choose the explicitly reversing controller when required. Power supplies are included only in the package naming one; verify the selected voltage and input connection before use.
Applications
Compact robot drives, motorized curtains, small balancing-vehicle development and robotic mechanisms where the selected torque, speed, shaft and controller meet the requirements. A mechanism, chassis and feedback controller are not included.

Confirm shaft dimensions, hole spacing, gearbox length, terminal clearance and load before mounting. Match the selected voltage, avoid overload and stall, and select by rated torque. Speed falls as load rises; reducing drive speed can also reduce available torque. Noise varies with speed and load.

Are12 V and24 V selector speeds identical?
The labels repeat12 V values, but actual voltage-specific reference speeds differ. Use the speed table above.
Does every package include a power supply?
No. Only the Mini PWM + Power Supply configuration includes one.
Does the mini PWM controller reverse the motor?
Direction switching is configuration-dependent. Select the explicitly reversing speed-controller package when you need that function.
Does the encoder version include a complete feedback controller?
No. The pictured encoder motor and lead are included; a feedback controller is not included, and the encoder electrical details need checking before connection.
