Pull-in/start frequency and pull-out/response frequency describe different operating limits. Torque values apply at the stated pulse rates and do not establish continuous load capability for every speed.
Version-Specific Wiring
A: 1.5 mm shaft, 10ohm
| Wire | Phase |
|---|---|
| Yellow | A |
| Black | A-bar |
| Red | B |
| White | B-bar |
CoilA uses yellow/black; coilB uses red/white. The A drawing shows connector order red, white, yellow, black; verify the marked viewing orientation before connecting.
B: 1 mm shaft, nominal 30ohm
| Wire | Phase |
|---|---|
| Black | A |
| Brown | A-bar |
| Red | B |
| White | B-bar |
CoilA uses black/brown; coilB uses red/white. The B connector table numbers brown 1, black 2, white 3, red 4. Color-to-phase function and connector pin position are separate references; use the actual marked connector orientation.
For two-phase-on drive, the phase sequence is A+B, A-bar+B, A-bar+B-bar, A+B-bar. Reverse the sequence to reverse direction. Rotation is referenced from the mounting/output-shaft side. Use a compatible bipolar stepper driver; do not power a coil directly as if it were a brushed DC motor. Disconnect power before changing wiring.
B-Winding Family Drive Reference
The following nominal 30ohm family guidance is separate from the B motor rating of 5 V/160 mA per phase. It is not a drive table for the A 10ohm winding. Apply current limiting and thermal checks appropriate to the selected driver and motor.
| Drive supply | Recommended frequency PPS/Hz | Recommended drive current |
|---|---|---|
| 12 V | 1000 | ≤0.25 A |
| 7.4 V | 1000 | ≤0.15 A |
| 6 V | 1000 | ≤0.10 A |
| 5 V | 1000 | ≤0.08 A |
| 3.7 V | 700 | ≤0.07 A |
Drive voltage must account for back EMF plus winding-current resistance drop. Long operation may require reduced current or external cooling if heating becomes excessive.
Mechanical Fit and General Tolerances
Choose the correct A/B shaft diameter, projection, mounting thread, hole spacing and cable envelope. Neither version has a D-flat shaft in this listing. The B drawing provides these general linear-tolerance classes in millimeters; explicit feature tolerances take precedence. No single tolerance class is assigned to every feature.
| Dimension Lmm | ClassA | ClassB | ClassC |
|---|---|---|---|
| L≤3 | ±0.02 | ±0.03 | ±0.05 |
| 3<L≤6 | ±0.05 | ±0.05 | ±0.08 |
| 6<L≤16 | ±0.07 | ±0.08 | ±0.10 |
| 16<L≤30 | ±0.10 | ±0.10 | ±0.12 |
| 30<L≤120 | ±0.10 | ±0.15 | ±0.18 |
| 120<L≤300 | ±0.15 | ±0.20 | ±0.25 |
| 300<L≤500 | ±0.20 | ±0.30 | ±0.40 |
Unspecified angular-tolerance reference:±0.1degree. Keep mounting screws clear of internal parts and provide shaft/load support as required by the mechanism.
Applications
Miniature robot mechanisms, small manipulators, smart-home motion controls, compact pan/tilt experiments and other low-load positioning projects where the selected shaft, winding, step rate and driver fit the application. A complete robotic hand, gimbal or mechanism is not included.
What's Included
One selected A or B CHS-15BY stepper motor with its pictured four-wire lead and connector. A motor driver, power supply, controller, encoder, gearbox, coupling and mounting bracket are not included.
FAQ
Are A and B electrically interchangeable?
No. Shaft size, winding resistance, mounting details and one phase-wire color differ. Use the selected version's table.
Does this include a reduction gearbox?
No. Both options are direct-shaft motors.
Can the 30ohm drive guidance be used for A?
No. It is scoped to the B nominal 30ohm winding family, not the A 10ohm motor.
