Overview

The Yahboom Tiny:bit/Tiny:bit Plus smart car is a compact educational robot car designed for the BBC micro:bit board. It supports MakeCode graphical programming and Python programming, and provides multiple built-in sensor-based activities for interactive learning and creative expansion. A rear alligator-clip interface is provided for quick prototyping and DIY add-ons.

Key Features

  • Based on BBC micro:bit board; compatible with both new and old versions: micro:bit board (V2) [Default], micro:bit board (V1) [Compatible].
  • Programming support: MakeCode graphical programming and Python programming.
  • Intelligent functions: obstacle avoidance and following (ultrasonic sensor), and black line tracking (tracking sensor).
  • Control options: Bluetooth remote control APP; iOS/Android APP remote control.
  • Sound and lighting: onboard microphone sensor and passive buzzer (can hear external sounds and play simple songs); programmable RGB lights and searchlights with lighting effects (Following light / Marquee / Breathing light).
  • Creative expansion: rear alligator clip terminals (GND / 3V3 / 2 / 1); compatible with building block.
  • Battery design: battery socket for directly inserting an 18650 lithium battery; integrates reverse polarity protection, low-voltage protection, and over-current protection.

Tiny:bit Plus additions (version-dependent)

  • WiFi camera image transmission module (optional, just for Tiny:bit Plus): automatically releases a WiFi hotspot after power-on; phone connects to WiFi to view real-time video stream; connects to the Tiny:bit Plus car through the serial port and is fixed through the camera bracket.
  • APP support (Tiny:bit Plus): Bluetooth remote control APP + video remote control APP.
  • AI vision functions (Tiny:bit Plus): built-in color threshold segmentation algorithm and lightweight convolutional neural network; identifies colors, faces, QR codes and other objects in the field of view, transmits recognition results to micro:bit through the serial port, and micro:bit displays recognized results and sends commands.
  • AI vision examples listed: cat(dog) detection, person recognition, face detection/following, QR code recognition, color recognition, color following.
  • Upgrade path: Tiny:bit can be upgraded to the Tiny:bit Plus version by purchasing an additional WiFi image transmission module.
