Configuration Guide
The available motor choices are24V85W,12V40W,12V20W and6V10W. The12V20W selection corresponds to the low-power table carrying a21W reference; this reference is not an additional winding or guaranteed continuous output. Select the exact winding and ratio before using performance data.
The nominal6:1 sales option corresponds to the6.3:1 performance-table column. The nominal18:1 option uses the18:1 performance column; some family outline labels use18.8. Use the selected performance reference and actual encoder ratio for precise pulse scaling rather than assuming every printed nominal ratio is exact.
Encoder and Wiring
| Terminal,top-to-bottom in diagram | Wire | Function |
|---|---|---|
| M2 | White | Motor power negative in illustrated direction |
| VCC | Blue | Encoder regulated3.3V/5V positive |
| C2 | Green | Hall channel B |
| C1 | Yellow | Hall channel A |
| GND | Black | Encoder ground |
| M1 | Red | Motor power positive in illustrated direction |
Encoder resolution is17PPR at the motor shaft, with34 poles /17 pole pairs and a100kHz response reference. Output-shaft pulse references scale with the actual gear ratio; quadrature edge-counting depends on the external decoder. Supply encoder VCC separately at regulated3.3V or5V. Keep6V/12V/24V motor voltage away from the encoder supply and signals. Reverse motor M1/M2 polarity to reverse rotation; follow the illustrated connector orientation and board labels.
Ratio,Length and Pulse Reference
| Performance ratio | Gearbox L mm | Base output pulses per revolution reference |
|---|---|---|
| 6.3:1 | 19 | 107.1 |
| 10:1 | 19 | 170 |
| 18:1 | 21.5 | 306 |
| 30:1 | 21.5 | 510 |
| 50:1 | 24 | 850 |
| 90:1 | 24 | 1530 |
| 150:1 | 26.5 | 2550 |
| 270:1 | 26.5 | 4590 |
| 450:1 | 29 | 7650 |
Pulse references are base17PPR multiplied by the table ratio, before any external decoder edge multiplier. The outline includes broader family-ratio labels; the table above gives the selected performance-column length references.
Motor Performance
No-load,rated and stall conditions are distinct. Power figures identify the winding reference and are not a continuous-duty guarantee at every ratio. Red torque cells state a maximum permitted load of35 kgf·cm (3.4 N·m), above which the gearbox can be damaged; those cells do not provide a separate rated torque value. Do not substitute this ceiling for a guaranteed rated output. Avoid sustained stall.

Power and Installation
Use a power system matched to the selected winding and actual running/startup current. A10A-capable supply is a minimum selection reference, not sufficient for every transient condition: the tables include stall currents up to26A. Provide a suitable motor driver, current protection and wiring. An external decoder/controller is required for feedback control; the encoder alone is not a complete closed-loop drive.
The motor has a21 mm output projection and12 mm D-flat length. Match the6 mm shaft, coupling fit and six-M3 front pattern. The optional80 mm wheels are35 mm wide. The coupling reference is30 mm long with12 mm across flats,13.75 mm corner-to-corner and opposed M4 set screws. The bracket outline gives40 mm front width,47 mm height,43 mm base depth and3 mm thickness.
Applications
Suitable for matched robot drive mechanisms,self-balancing platforms,line-following or inspection carts, smart appliances and positioning assemblies requiring incremental rotation feedback. Match the mechanism load, ratio, power system and shaft support to the selected configuration.
What's Included
One selected encoder motor with rear cover and six-wire connection lead. The bracket package adds one mounting bracket and pictured hardware. Each80 mm wheel-kit package adds one selected blue or silver wheel, one bracket, one matching coupling and illustrated mounting parts. This is a single-motor/single-wheel kit. A second motor, power supply, motor driver, feedback controller and complete robot are not included.
FAQ
Can encoderVCC use the24V motor supply?
No. Encoder VCC requires separate regulated3.3V or5V. Motor voltage must stay off the encoder supply and signal pins.
Is17PPR the gearbox output count?
It is the motor-shaft base count. Output references scale with actual ratio and the external decoder counting method.
Why does the12V20W option show a21W table?
It is the same low-power winding selection with a21W table reference. Match the complete winding choice and its operating-point data.
Does the wheel kit include two wheels?
No. Each selected wheel kit includes one motor and one blue or silver wheel with the illustrated matching mounting parts.
