Overview

This 4-channel infrared tracking sensor module uses four infrared probes with an optimized spacing layout for smart car line tracking. The inner two probes are used for black-line identification, while the outer two probes assist with edge detection and provide early warning to help the car handle difficult tracks such as 90° turns.

Working Principle (Tracking Probe Identification)

The tracking sensor works based on infrared sensing technology. Each probe includes an infrared transmitting tube and a receiving tube. When infrared light is emitted onto a black line, most light is absorbed; when emitted onto a white surface, more light is reflected and received. The position of the black line can be determined by comparing the intensity difference of the reflected light received by the receiving tube.
