User Guide
Throttle Calibration & ESC Programming
Before first use, users must calibrate the throttle range to ensure proper performance. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Motor Wiring
- Connect the motor to the ESC.
- Plug the throttle signal cable into the TH channel on the receiver.
- Connect the UBEC cable to the BATT channel (or any free receiver channel).
- Power the system using a compatible LiPo battery.
Step 2: Throttle Range Calibration
- Turn on the transmitter and move the throttle stick to the top position.
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are well bound, then connect the ESC to the battery.
- When the motor emits two short “Beep-beep” sounds, move the throttle stick to the bottom within 3 seconds.
- Throttle calibration is completed.
⚠️ Important: Remove propellers before performing calibration for safety.
Step 3: ESC Programming
- Turn on the transmitter and move the throttle stick to the top position.
- Connect the ESC to the battery while ensuring the transmitter and receiver are bound.
- The motor will beep different tones indicating programming mode.
- Listen for the corresponding beeps:
- "Beep-beep" → Throttle Calibration
- "Beep-beep-beep" → DEO ON
- "Beep-beep-beep-beep" → DEO OFF
- Move the throttle stick to the bottom position 3 seconds after hearing the correct beep to complete programming.
Normal Start-up Process & Protections
Start-up Protection
- If the motor fails to start within 2 seconds, the ESC shuts down automatically to prevent damage.
- Users must reset the throttle stick to the bottom position and restart the motor.
Overload Protection
- The ESC will cut off power if the load suddenly increases beyond safe limits.
- Normal operation resumes once the throttle stick is reset to neutral.
Throttle Signal Loss Protection
- If the ESC detects a signal loss exceeding 0.25 seconds, it cuts off output to prevent motor damage.
- Once the signal is restored, the ESC resumes normal operation.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Warning Tone | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|---|
Motor does not start | “Beep beep beep…” (Rapid beeping) | Throttle stick is not at the bottom position | Move throttle to bottom or recalibrate throttle range |
No motor output | “Beep, beep, beep…” (1-second intervals) | No signal from throttle channel | Check transmitter binding and wiring |
Incorrect throttle response | "BB, BBB, BBBB" (Looping tones) | Throttle channel direction reversed | Set throttle direction correctly in the transmitter |
This XROTOR Pro 40A ESC is an excellent choice for high-performance drone applications, offering smooth operation, precise control, and multiple safety features to ensure a reliable and stable flight experience.
